First blog post!

First blog post!

May 25, 2025

Introduction

This blog exists to document my projects, organize my thoughts, and improve my coding skills. It also doubles as a portfolio. Since I’m already working on technical projects, I figured I might as well share them. The blog is built mostly in Astro, and setting it up was a project in itself.

Why a Blog?

I wanted a place to showcase what I’m working on, and a blog made sense. It helps keep things organized, and it forces me to break down my projects in a way that others can follow.

Who Is This For?

This is mostly for me, but if you’re into home labs or technical builds, you might get something out of it. My projects tend to interest two types of people:

  1. Friends who don’t do tech but like cool projects.
  2. Tech people who might pick up a useful insight or two.

I’m not coming at this as an expert—I’m just figuring things out as I go.

What Will I Cover?

The main focus is home lab projects, but I’ll write about anything interesting I’m working on. Expect a mix of:

  • Project breakdowns – What I’m building and why.
  • Technical write-ups – How I set things up and the problems I ran into.
  • Opinions – My thoughts on tools, trends, and workflows.
  • Case studies – Maybe later, once I know how to do them properly.

Writing Style

I’m aiming for technical but not boring—detailed enough for people who know what they’re doing but not so dry that everyone else tunes out. Mostly, this is a record of my journey, but if others find it useful, that’s a bonus.

Challenges & Goals

The hardest part will be coming up with good content consistently, but I’ll aim for one post per month. Long-term, I wouldn’t mind sponsorships for product reviews, but for now, this is just a place to document my work.

Final Thoughts

This blog is an experiment. It’s here so I can track my progress, work on my skills, and maybe share something useful along the way. Let’s see where it goes.
